1. Web Page Navigation
Even if you don’t have special screen magnification software such as ZoomText or MAGic, there are some ways to enlarge the text on your screen.
For Internet Explorer: You have a menu bar across the top of your screen with the following options: FILE, EDIT, VIEW, FAVORITES, TOOLS, HELP. Click on VIEW (or press ALT and V). On the drop down menu that appears, click on TEXT SIZE (or type the letter X). Click on the font size that you prefer: Largest (or type G), Larger (type L), Medium (type M), Smaller (type S), or Smallest (type A).
For Netscape: You have a menu bar across the top of your screen with the following options: FILE, EDIT, VIEW, GO, COMMUNICATOR, HELP. Click on VIEW (or press ALT and V). On the drop down menu that appears, click on INCREASE FONT to make the text larger.
For Mozilla Firefox: You have a menu bar across the top of your screen with the following options: FILE, EDIT, VIEW, GO, BOOKMARKS, TOOL, HELP. Click on VIEW (or press ALT and V). On the drop down menu that appears, click on TEXT SIZE (or type Z) and choose either INCREASE (or type I) or DECREASE (or type D) text size. You can also use CTRL and + and CTRL and - at any time to change font size without going to the menus.
Windows XP Users: Windows XP comes with a basic screen magnifier of its own. To turn on the Windows Magnifier, click on the START button in the corner of your screen. Point to ALL PROGRAMS. Point to ACCESSORIES. Point to ACCESSIBILITY. Select MAGNIFIER. For more information on the Windows Magnifier: Using Magnifier.
2. PDF FilesTo magnify a PDF document, click on the Å symbol on the toolbar on the top of the Adobe Reader screen. It’s located next to a number followed by a % sign (e.g., 100%). Each time you click the symbol, the number next to the % will get larger, as will the text on the screen. Or you can type a level of magnification directly in the box with the % (200%, 300%, etc.).
