The mission of the Johnson & Johnson - Dartmouth Community Mental Health Program is to increase access to evidence-based supported employment (SE), also known as Individual Placement and Support (IPS), for adults with serious mental illness who are interested in improving their work lives.
The program is administered in participating states through collaboration between the state mental health authority and the state vocational rehabilitation administration. Each year, IPS programs are recognized for their successes in implementing supported employment programs.
Johnson & Johnson Dartmouth Achievement Award winners Diana Mc Neil (Humanim's EBP Manager) and Jessica Hawes, (DORS VR Specialist Supervisor, Annapolis & Prince Frederick) were selected beause the Maryland IPS supported employment program had the most significant improvement in the number of people receiving fidelity supported employment services.
Theirs was one of just three IPS supported employment sites nationwide to receive the 2011 award. This award recognizes the success and quality of the DORS/Humanim partnership.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Burlington, Vermont on May 10th.
