About DORS

Will DORS Help Me...?

Will DORS help me with transportation?

In some instances, DORS may help pay for the cost of transportation while you are taking part in programs.

Will DORS help me with housing?

DORS does not provide housing.  However, the DORS counselor can refer you to a local Center for Independent Living and other resources for assistance in locating housing.

Will DORS buy me a computer?

DORS may assist with the purchase of a computer and/or assistive technologies if you need special technologies because of your disability in order to achieve your employment goal, and in some other circumstances.  DORS will also arrange for assessments and training for such equipment.

In order to help as many people with their needs as possible, DORS counselors will help look for other sources of funding for this equipment.

Will DORS buy me a van?

DORS does not purchase vehicles.  DORS may assist you, however, in the evaluation and funding of vehicle modifications if such purchases will help you reach your employment or independent living goal.

Will DORS help me get a GED?
