DORS rehabilitation counselors help students with disabilities prepare for the future. Depending on your skills and interests, we may:

• Help you find and keep a summer job

• Support college or technical school training

• Coordinate on-the-job training, mentoring and internships with local employers

• Arrange for services and testing that will identify your skills and abilities

• Help you and your family learn about assistive technology. These are products and services that can help you communicate, use a computer, take care of yourself at home or learn to drive.

• Refer you to the Workforce & Technology Center’s summer programs that help students who are blind and students with learning disabilities prepare for college.

• Help you enroll in programs that teach job-seeking and job-keeping skills.
