Customized Training

Career Information
Customized Training involves a partnership between an employer and the Workforce & Technology Center (WTC).  The employer identifies specific employment openings and training is designed to fit the needs of the employer.

Training may take place at the WTC, on the job, by an outside vendor, or by a combination of models.

Length of Course
Since each training will vary with the needs of the employer, it is difficult to define the length of the training.  Preferably the training will be less than six months and possibly as little as two months.

Admission Qualifications
A candidate for Customized Training would need to fulfill the specific qualifications required by the sponsoring employer.  The employer is involved in the selection process and sets the minimum standards or benchmarks.

Employment Outlook
Because training is employer driven and is tailored to meet the employer's standards, the expectation for hiring is high.  Occupations that are expected to grow during the 2000 to 2010 time period are specifically targeted.  Consideration is also given to regional employment needs within the state.  Earnings will be in line with industry standards.
