Career Information
Auto Detailers wash vehicles, clean and dress tires, vacuum interiors, clean windows, polish, wax and buff exteriors. They also examine finishes for paint and other cosmetic imperfections.

Students who successfully complete the Detailing Program and show the initiative and interest to gain additional skill in the field can pursue Advanced Detailing.

Length of Course
This 12-week course includes videos, lectures and guided classroom discussions with extensive hands-on experience.

Admission Qualifications
A copy of the consumer's driving record must be provided prior to admission to the program.  If the individual has more than two points on his/her driving record, admission may only be granted upon special review by the Center administration. That review would include examining the type of violation(s), date of violation(s), and when the points would be removed from the individual's driving record.

The consumer must have the ability to constantly bend; strenuously exert oneself; lift up to 50 pounds; and good hand dexterity and mobility.  Individuals interested in automotive training who report criminal conviction(s) will be required to secure a criminal background check.

Employment Outlook
This is a growth industry with opportunities for advancement and excellent salary potential. Starting salaries approximate $8.00 per hour, or $32.00 per vehicle with specific employers.

Advanced students may receive a certification from the National Certification for Detailing from Meguiar's.
