An accommodation is a modification or adjustment to a job, the work environment or the way things are usually done that enables the employee to do the job more effectively and productively.

A reasonable accommodation is an accommodation that provides a qualified employee with a disability with an equal employment opportunity and does not cause the employer undue hardship. Undo hardship is usually defined in terms of costs to the employer, or difficulty or disruption in the workplace.
