Auto Mechanics training at WTC

The Employment Services staff at WTC coordinate contact between businesses who need qualified applicants and students who are ready to graduate from WTC training programs.

Employers may contact WTC Employment Services to post job openings, learn about on-the-job training programs and obtain information about tax incentives and other disability employment issues.

Students who are approaching graduation can take part in:

  1. Job Seeking Skills TrainingTwo-week classroom work prepares students for the job search.  Employment Specialists assist with job applications, resume, cover letter development, job sources (including Internet and computer databases), networking and interviewing skills.  Additionally, staff provides training on the Americans with Disabilities Act and other laws related to employment.

  2. Job PlacementAfter completion of Job Seeking Skills Training, students continue to work with an Employment Specialist to search for employment.  Staff assist in using networking techniques and other resources to develop job leads and interviews. Services are ongoing until employment is obtained.  Follow-up is provided to ensure a successful transition to work.

Employment Advisory Panels

WTC's Job Placement team coordinates Employment Advisory Panels job training area at WTC. These employers provide valuable guidance to WTC staff by sharing insights about labor market trends, curriculum, skill requirements and desired employee characteristics.   Meetings are scheduled at least annually.
