OBVS Programs & Services

Individuals in the Office for Blindness & Vision Services are eligible for all of the programs and services offered through DORS Office of Field Services.

However, DORS established OBVS because practice and research has shown that individuals who are blind or visually impaired benefit from additional supports. These may include:

Locations

DORS counselors, case managers and rehabilitation teachers who work for the Office for Blindness & Vision Services are located in DORS offices throughout Maryland. Individuals whose primary disability is blindness or vision loss will be assigned a counselor or teacher who works in his or her community.

OBVS also has staff at the Workforce & Technology Center, a DORS rehabilitation facility in northeast Baltimore, where there is extensive programming for individuals who are blind or have vision impairments.
