CDER Café and Deli

Alan Haile greets two customers in his café.
Alan Haile, FDA Center for Drug Evaluation & Research

Alan Haile’s career with the Maryland Business Enterprise Program for the Blind started on September 12, 2005 when he began managing a food service facility at the new Food and Drug Administration White Oak campus. Although he has been a successful businessman in other pursuits, this is his first food service operation.

Customers at cafe steam tables.

The CDER Café and Deli is located in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, which will house 1,400 employees.  Already Alan and his staff have received many compliments on the facility and quality service.

Four men help cut a red ribbon hung across two glass doors.

Alan enjoys his new challenge and looks forward to a long career with the program.  He is shown here with Dr. Steven Galson, Director of CDER, and other FDA officials at the ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new facility.
