You may request a review of your case if you disagree with the decision. Then, a new disability review team who did not make the first decision will decide your case again. This is called a reconsideration. If you are still dissatisfied with your decision, you may request a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). There are appeal levels beyond the ALJ if you are still dissatisfied with the decision.
In order to appeal your decision, you must contact your local SSA field office and complete the appropriate forms within 60 days from the date of receipt of the disability decision notice.
