I need a hearing aid and can’t afford one. Where can I get help?
If you are eligible for DORS services and you need a hearing aid to become employed or to stay independent in your home or community, your DORS counselor will talk with you about the best way to obtain a hearing aid.
If you are not eligible for DORS services (or if working is not your goal), you can contact these places to find out more about obtaining low or no-cost hearing services:

What if I need a sign language interpreter for a job interview?
The Division will work with the employer and you to determine how to address the accommodations that you need in the interview process.Does DORS pay for college and graduate school?
DORS is not a primary funding source for post-secondary education, but may assist with certain costs once the student has applied for scholarships and grants.
Can DORS help me get a federal job?
If you have the skills and education needed for federal employment, the DORS counselor can help you learn about federal employment opportunities as well as all the other opportunities that may be open to you. DORS does work in collaboration with many federal agencies that make it a priority to hire people with disabilities.
In addition, the supervisor in the DORS office in your community can tell you how a "Schedule 'A' Certificate" helps qualified individuals with disabilities obtain employment in federal government.
