Will I lose my Social Security disability benefits if I go to work?
The Social Security Administration has several incentive programs that help people who are receiving Social Security benefits go to work while not immediately affecting benefits.
You can call the Work Incentives Planning & Assistance (WIPA) statewide program to learn about work incentives, Social Security benefits and the Ticket-to-Work Program:

I just received a "Ticket to Work" in the mail. What is it?
The Social Security Administration (SSA) offers a program for people who are receiving Social Security Disability benefits and who would like to work. The program is called "Ticket to Work." If you are receiving SSDI or SSI benefits, SSA may send you information about this program, along with a "Ticket." You can take this "ticket" to DORS and certain other vocational rehabilitation agencies ("employment networks") to obtain programs and services that you would need to go to work.
Talk with a DORS rehabilitation counselor for more information about how the Ticket to Work program can help you return to work.
