Informed Choice

three female student panelists at the 2006 Transition Conference

Rehabilitation law says that you have the right to make your own decisions about jobs and living independently.

When discussing goals, DORS staff will help you find out your options and the pros and cons of each option. Then the best decisions can be made about how to reach a rehabilitation goal. This is called "informed choice."

There may be times that policy or funding does not support a choice. However, your preferences are always an important part of planning.
