Statistics indicate that individuals with disabilities experience a much higher rate of domestic violence and sexual assault than individuals without disabilities. Maryland has a number of community agencies that provide services to individuals affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
A flyer is available with basic information, including contact phone numbers for agencies that can assist. (Click here for a large print version of the flyer.)
House of Ruth Maryland offers comprehensive domestic violence services for residents of Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Prince Georges County, including a shelter, crisis hotline, counseling to victims, therapy and education for children and teens, a legal clinic, men’s program, and advocacy. For more information, http://www.hruth.org/.
