This year, in a slight departure from the three-day destination conferences of previous years, the MRA and DORS are presenting the Maryland Rehabilitation Training Forum, a day-and-a-half training event on Thursday & Friday, November 14 & 15, 2013 at the Workforce & Technology Center in Northeast Baltimore.

The Forum will be no cost for all attendees.

The overarching theme of the Maryland Rehabilitation Training Forum, and the topic around which we have built our programming, is: Serving the Under-Served.

Our format may have changed a bit but our mission, as always, is to provide outstanding training opportunities for vocational rehabilitation professionals as well as a venue for networking with your colleagues.

Forum Highlights:

  • Keynote Speaker – Jason Braase, an Iraq war veteran working with the Wounded Warrior Project.
  • Two Important General Sessions – On Thursday afternoon, Michael Murray of the US Office of Personnel Management will talk about the impact of federal policy and legislation on the employment of people with disabilities.  On Friday morning, Patricia Leahy of the National Rehabilitation Association will discuss the ramifications of the WIA and Rehab Act reauthorization currently before Congress.

  • 23 Breakout Sessions in 5 programming tracks: Disability, Emerging Practices, Employment, Professional Development and Sensory. (6 CRC credits available)

  • Vendors & Exhibitors showcasing the latest in rehabilitation products and services. Join them before the event begins and throughout the day on Thursday and for morning coffee and breaks on Friday.  Want to exhibit at the conference?

  • A traditional Baltimore Bull Roast & Crab Feast with your rehab colleagues Thursday night.
