MSRC member Laurie Elinoff gives the commencement address to graduates of DORS Workforce & Technology Center career and technology training programs.
The MSRC is composed of individuals who are interested in the success of public vocational rehabilitation programs. Members, who are appointed by the Governor, include representatives from the education, rehabilitation and employment fields. SRC members serve three-year terms. By law, over half of SRC's members must have disabilities themselves. The Council strives for statewide representation.
SRC members attend quarterly meetings, usually held in Baltimore. They hear about and discuss current topics about DORS programs and services and make recommendations to DORS as needed. Members also attend an annual legislative day in Annapolis, and meet with Senators and Delegates to present the SRC views on legislative issues.
SRC members are very active on committees. These committees review policy changes, advise on the production of the SRC annual report and provide input about DORS strategic planning.
